Anne Hodgins Sykes, 94, died September 18, 2014 in her room at Friends Home at Guilford. Anne was born March 7, 1920 in Guilford County to Kyle C. and Maude Kirkman Hodgins. Anne's funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday September 23, 2014 at First Friends Meeting on Friendly Avenue with Pastors Deborah Suess and Sheila Hoyer officiating. She will be laid at rest in the New Garden Friends Meeting Cemetery beside her husband, James W. Sykes and her son, William Kyle Sykes. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, and her sister, Doe Trivett. She is survived by her son, James W. Sykes, a granddaughter, Tanya Lemonds and husband, Steve; a great-grandson, Stephen K. Lemonds; a great-granddaughter, Kylie R. Lemonds and a nephew, Donald Trivett. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday September 22 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
