Dorothy Maxine Helms Collins

Dorothy Maxine Helms Collins, 90, died at her residence at Clapp's Nursing Home in Pleasant Garden on September 10, 2013. She was born July 31, 1923 in Thomasville, North Carolina to Sylvester Wilson and Margaret Troglen Helms. There will be a funeral service at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service on Thursday at 3:00 pm with Rev. Arthur Waddell officiating. The interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Dorothy was preceded in death by, her parents and her, husband, Wilbert. She is survived by her two sons, Lindo and his wife Helen, and Jim; grandchildren, Wendi Crouse, Andy Collins, Jennifer Collins, Cameron Owensby; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Meredith, and Ashlyn. Dorothy lived in the Proximity Community since 1958. She attended Eller Memorial Baptist Church and Hillcrest Baptist Church. She worked for Cone Mills Corporation for 45 years. She was a loyal, strong servant to her church, community and friends. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
