Mrs. Joanne A. Ivey, 78, of Greensboro, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital. A memorial service will be held 6:30 pm Tuesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Joel Gilchrist officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Ivey was born September 8, 1934 in Laurinburg, North Carolina to William Tecumseh and Annie Davis Allen. She had a kind loving spirit and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Ivey is survived by her daughter, Karen Ivey Loveday (Darrell); grandchildren, Barron Timothy Gilchrist (Heather) and Karen Allison Shelor (Paul); great-grandchildren, Ivy Leigh Shelor, Autumn Rose Shelor, and Tanner Barron Gilchrist. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
