January 25th, 1934 - July 31st, 2017
Lula "Evelyn" Smith Smith, 83, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Blumenthal Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. Evelyn was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina on January 25, 1934 to the late Leslie Smith and Bertie Smith. She retired from AMP Incorporated with 30 years of service. She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Leslie Elwood Smith and Mark Dempsey Smith. Surviving are daughter, Cathy Smith Bogan and husband Robert; sons, Kent Smith, Bill Smith and wife Phyllis, Michael Smith and wife Stephanie, Jeff Smith and wife Kim; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405. Online condolences may be offered at www.lambethtroxlerfuneralhome.com
