James 'Butch' Oakley, 46, of Greensboro, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital with family and friends at his bedside. There will be a service to celebrate his life 7:00 pm Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Philadelphia Baptist Chapel, 5515 Church Street Ext. Mr. Oakley was born in Wilkes County on June 19, 1966 to James and Nancy Oakley. He graduated from Northeast Guilford High School. He worked for PBM graphics for 28 years. He was an avid racer, driving Go-Karts, trucks and cars. He was the track points champion in 2010 at Liberty speedway. Mr. Oakley was preceded in death by his father James Lawrence Oakley. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Oakley, of Greensboro; brother, Allen Oakley (Pam) of Elon; sister, Kim Thore (David) of Summerfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends 4719 Holders Road, Greensboro, NC 27405. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home is assisting the Oakley family.
