Roger Tilley
April 25th, 1951 - September 11th, 2011
Mr. Roger Lee Tilley, 60, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Beacon Place after a five year battle with Alzheimer's. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 14th, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Phil Kirkman officiating. Roger was a kind and loving person who didn't know a stranger and would do anything he could for anyone. He graduated from Northwest High School and GTCC. He loved sports and was a true-blue Carolina Tar Heel Fan. He was also a blood donor to the American Red Cross for over 35 years. Roger is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Diane Rayle Tilley; son, Jeff Tilley and wife Allison; daughters, Stephanie Sinkler and husband Clark, Tracy Pracht, Debbie Gwin and husband Brian, and Kimberly McGinnis; his beloved grandchildren, Justin Bondurant, Meredith Sinkler, Meagan and Benjamin Pracht, Jackson Gwin and Hunter Tilley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Beacon Place, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405 or the Alzheimer's Association, 122 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Reynolds and his nurse Jan and the staff of Guilford Neurologic Associates, Moses Cone 5500 Nursing Staff and the Staff at Beacon Place for all the support, kindness, and care that was given to Roger and his family.
