Sheryl N. Hines (nee Weiss), 69, of Mantua, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Legacy A strong willed, loving lady Sheryl always liked to have things done her way; but on the other hand, she was as selfless and the day is long...she would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you needed it. Sheryl could do any kind of craft and even created her own business so that she could share her works of beauty with others. Many families have these works of art such as wedding albums, wedding bouquets and baby books. Nothing was more important to her than her time spent with family. especially their trips to North Wildwood and Ocean City, Maryland. She also enjoyed traveling with her son John on his ice hockey team, being a "hockey mom" and shopping on QVC. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Sheryl was a resident of Mantua for over 40 years. She was a child care provider for over 30 years and many families entrusted their children to her care before and after school. Sheryl also became a huge advocate for the SADS Foundation after the untimely and sudden death of her daughter, Beth. Through the organization, ice hockey and all of the families that she met through the schools, Sheryl formed longtime...even worldwide friendships and relationships. Family She is the beloved Mother of Erin D. Hall, John J. (Janet) Hines and the late Beth Renee; loving grandmother of Brihana, Branden, Tori, Kaya and Kealy; dear sister of Todd Weiss. Sheryl opened her home and heart to many of her children and grandchildren’s friends. Many of whom call her Mom and Mommom. She has several “adopted” children and grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Sheryl is also survived by her furry pal, Nala. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sheryl's visitation on Monday, July 16, 2018, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ where the Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment Wenonah Cemetery, Mantua, NJ. McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury
We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
