Margaret P. McCormick Rankin
October 25th, 1925 - December 31st, 2018
Ms. Margaret McCormick Rankin, of Deptford, New Jersey, suddenly passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018. She was 93 years young. Legacy Margaret will be remembered as a loving woman who spent her life caring for those in need. She was a homemaker, she worked in a factory in her early years and then retired as a LPN which was her life's work. At the start of her LPN career she worked along side her Mom who was also a Nurse. She then went on to work at several hospitals in Delaware County. Away from her work, Mickey enjoyed spending time with her family. She never asked for much and was always so appreciative of everything she received. Her family will always have a special place in their hearts for the Christmas season. Mickey loved everything Santa and would always greet you with a very cheerful Merry Chrit-mit! Her favorite year was when the family chipped in and bought her a life-size Santa that sang and danced. The smile on her face walking up the stairs is something they will cherish forever. Also, Mickster loved a good party where she could put on her fancy jewelry and get glammed up so it was fitting that her favorite celebration was New Years Eve. Her smile and wave while saying "Happy New New!" is something the family will continue to remember, and say, to keep her sweet memory alive. Every storm will remind them of their sweet Mickey Rootie since she was forever sitting by the fire with a blanket that her son in law Dan would make sure was roaring for her, watching the weather channel. She never liked storms but sure spent a lot of time watching Channel 6 keeping in the weather loop! Princess Mickey loved to dance, sneak her chocolates, sit with her morning bun and coffee and always smiling while watching her great grandkids dancing and laughing. Mickey was grateful that in her recent years she was able to live in comfort with her best friend and daughter Helen Ehrmann. Margaret will be deeply missed, loved and remembered by all who knew and loved this gentle and kind woman with her sweet smile Family She is the beloved mother of Helen (Ehrmann) Nines and the late Edgar Nines; friend and mother in law to Daniel Lawrence; beloved daughter to the late Helen and Larry McCormick; loving sister to the late Larry McCormick and Marion Marsh; cherished grandmother of Christina (Ehrmann) Paleschic, Stacy (Ehrmann) and Adam Reid, Joseph Ehrmann, Edgar Nines and Bobby Nines; great grandmother of 6. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret's viewing after 9:00AM on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, where her Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10 AM.
