Antonina "“Nana"" Stuppiello

A Mass of Catholic Burial for “Nana” Antonina Stuppiello, 88, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, officiated by Father Joseph Romanoski. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends on both Thursday and Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. lead by Deacon Coleman Parks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101, or National Emphysema Foundation, 128 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851. Nana Antonina, married to Papa Mario Stuppiello for 62 years and formerly of Antonina’s Ristorante, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019. She was born in Manhattan, NY. She was a daughter of the late Antonino Firriolo and Lorita Lazara Firriolo. She was an accomplished seamstress, gourmet chef, and superb baker; as she grew up helping her father in the family bakery in New York City. Nana was a devoted grandmother to all her grandchildren, who displayed countless hours of love and affection for them. Survivors are - daughter, Maria Stuppiello-Schomber of Long Island, NY; son Joseph Stuppiello and wife Diane of Gilbert; nine grandchildren; Bradley, Joseph, Ryan, Jennifer, Douglas, Jacqueline, Peter, James and Sara; eight great-grandchildren; Lane, Luke, Koen, Giada, Joanna, Milo, Leo and Joey.
