John David Bowen, 76, of Columbia, SC passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He was born January 31, 1943 in Columbia, SC to the late Ernest Lee and Ruby (Bell) Bowen. John retired as a Machinist with Consolidated Systems. He also served his country in the United States Army. He is survived by his daughter Taryn (Bryan) Kost, his son, his brothers and sisters, Robert (Ann) Bowen, Janie B. Hall, Norris (Joann Boland) Bowen, Joyce (Eddie) Dennis and seven grandchildren. John is predeceased by his sister Linda B. Driggers. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 13th at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with military honors. The family will be receiving friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 on Friday, August 09, 2019 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
