Wade Marion Thompson, 76, resident of Lexington, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 27, 2020. Born April 19, 1943 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ruby Roberts Thompson. He retired from Intertape Polymer Group after many years of service. He was a member of the Eau Claire Masonic Lodge and the Jamil Shrine Temple. Wade served in the US Navy, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and was of the Lutheran faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, with his greatest joy being spending time with his family. Wade is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Faye Lucas Thompson; daughter Nicole Thompson of Lexington; son Jason Thompson of Lexington; grandsons, Conner and Lucas Thompson; brothers, Paul Thompson of Chapin and Billy Thompson (Linda) of Hopkins and a number of nieces, nephews and loving family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1 PM on Thursday, March 12th at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with the Rev. David Spears officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. The family suggest those wishing to make memorials do so to the Shriners Hospital of Greenville, 950 W. Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the Thompson family.
