Brandon Olson
January 15th, 1986 - June 24th, 2020
Brandon Ray Olson was born in Orange, California on January 15, 1986, to Bonnie and Carl Olson. Brandon was with the class of 2004 at Cascade High School in Aumsville, Oregon. Brandon was nicknamed “Farmer” by his friends in school, even the teachers would refer to him as Farmer. Almost all of these friends have kept their friendship alive with Brandon after all of these years. He was very close to so many, those who entered his life along the way, kept close to him. He was a lover of people and could talk to anyone about anything. He was always the one cracking a joke and lifting the spirits around him. Brandon worked as a Supervisor at Stahlbush Island Farms in Corvallis. He loved his work and was in the process of completing his Farm Management Processing certificate. He enjoyed art, sketching, painting, mosaic tiling, creating, and sculpting. He was a lover of the outdoors- you would find him every chance he got swimming, hiking, rockhounding, camping, hot springs soaking, and he loved bringing his family and friends along for the adventure. He excelled in everything he put his heart into. His greatest passion and pleasure were his children and family. He took great honor in modeling a father figure in his youngest 2 nephews' lives. His son and daughter were his heart and soul. He was a provider and protector for all of the kids in his life. He met his fiance in 2008 and they started dating in May of 2014. They were to be married on June 21, 2020, but due to Covid19, they rescheduled to 2021. They spent the last almost 6 ½ years learning to be each other's best friend, falling in unconditional love with each other and creating and raising a beautiful son and daughter. They endured the loss of their daughter with grace and strength and held on tight to one another, they were each other's foundation in such a chaotic part of life. Brandon is survived by the love of his life Katie “Makana” Hills-Sete, his son Carl Kūpono Henning Olson, his mom, Bonnie Olson, grandmother Alice Russell, brother Corey (Barbara) Rapp, and sister Danielle Olson. He is also survived by his loving nephews Caleb, Adam, Dylan, and Henning and his niece Miranda. Brandon is also survived by his Aunt Bobbie (Ken), Aunt Debbie (Matt), Aunt Terri (James), Uncle Tom (Bridgett), and Uncle Mike (Jenn). He was preceded in death by his daughter Katie Kolinahealani, his dad Carl Olson, his sister LaShelle Lynn, paternal grandparents Clarence and Polly Olson, maternal grandfather William Russell, and aunts Jeannette Russell, Bonnie Lenearts, and Tammie Olson. He will be remembered by so many friends who he considered and treated like family. A memorial service will be held for Brandon on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Further details regarding time and place will be announced via Facebook. Crown Memorial will be handling the arrangements.
