Juris “George” Gulbis, 84, of West Columbia entered eternal rest on March 17, 2020. George was born on March 5, 1936 in Riga, Latvia to Janis and Larissa (Petula) Gulbis. George had so much love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George also had a love for woodwork, cooking, and cars. He had a massive collection of cars that he treasured. George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly. He loved to make Beverly her tea and grits every morning. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, Janis and Larissa Gulbis; his son, Mark; and his sister, Zinta. George is survived by his daughter, Teresa Gulbis Shepherd (David); grandchildren, Crystal Russell (Dennis), Mark Gulbis (Amanda) and Darby Shepherd (Clayton); great-grandchildren, Haylie, Mollie, Jacob, Tyler, Caroline and Knox; his brother, Eddie; his sister, Irene; his sisters-in-law, Elaine and Shirley; his great friends, Michael McLemore, Scott and Hope Deter, Mike and Marcia Winters; and his dog, Amber.
