Adam Richard Wilson
September 15th, 1986 - March 19th, 2020
Adam Richard Wilson, 33, of Aiken, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on March 19, 2020 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born September 15, 1986 in Fort Knox, KY, he was the son of Willard Richard Wilson and Beverly Shay Billingsley Wilson. Adam earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University. He worked as a project engineer for Hubbell Power Systems Inc. and had a reputation as a dedicated, hardworking and invaluable member of the Hubbell team. Adam was a member of Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene. A gifted musician, he not only played the trombone at his church every Sunday, but also for the Aiken Orchestra, Savannah River Winds Orchestra and his band, The Experiment and the I-20 Horns. Given his generous and thoughtful nature, Adam was known to play for anyone in his community needing trombone player. Adam was an avid golfer and fan of the University of Kentucky and Clemson University. He was always ready for a new adventure and traveled extensively, often sampling new foods and beer in the places he visited. He loved trivia and was regarded as very bright, quick witted and well-read. Despite his many accomplishments, Adam was considered by family and friends as incredibly selfless and kind. He fully committed to whatever he was doing, be it working, playing music or engaging with family and friends. In addition to his parents, surviving are his sister, Erika Cullum (Chris) of Clanton, AL; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Earlene Billingsley of Clanton, AL; a niece Morgan Cullum and a nephew, Dylan Cullum both of Clanton, AL. Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Lois Wilson. A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, 3526 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC 29829. The family will receive friends at 10 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to a charity of your choosing in memory of Adam. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the Wilson family.
