William "Billy" Charles Gray
July 17th, 1936 - September 13th, 2020
William Charles Gray (Billy), 84, of West Columbia, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2020. Born on July 17, 1936, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of William Chandler Gray and Ellen Barker Gray. Billy was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Lillie Gray Hatfield. He was a home builder in the Columbia area for most of his life. A member of Christs's Sanctified Holy Church, he loved his church family. In addition to Carolyn Andrews Gray, his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his sons Bill, Wayne (DeAnne), Barry (Jennifer), his daughter Beth Hopkins (Michael), grandchildren Zane Gray (Anna), Ethan Hopkins, and Amelia Hopkins, sister-in-law Jackie Chauvin, nieces, and one nephew. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. A graveside service will be held at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2:00pm in Perry, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
