Thomas Frank Melton
April 21st, 1951 - October 8th, 2020
Thomas (Pop) Melton, 69, joined his Mother and Father and his beloved son, Chad in Heaven on Thursday, October 8, 2020. He was born April 21, 1951 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to the late Rudolph and Celia Melton. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his son Chad Melton. Thomas is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Smith Melton; son Tommy Melton (Callie), and daughter Sherri Melton Polyak (Grant); eight grandchildren, who loved their Pop dearly, Haley, Maddie, Reagan, Kennedy, T.J., Hadley, Kendall, and Tinsley. Thomas loved and served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force, both active and reserves, for over 20 years. Thomas followed his military duty by continuing to support the military as a contractor maintaining aircraft around the world. Wherever they lived, Thomas and Wanda served their churches faithfully. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. The family will receive visitors after the service at the funeral home.
