Mary Elizabeth Geiger
April 27th, 1947 - August 13th, 2020
Mary Elizabeth Geiger, 73, of Glen Spey, New York, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Legacy A strong willed and forthright woman, Mary was able to show great kindness. She was a devout Catholic and devoted much of her life to her Catholic faith and Church. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mary spent much of her childhood in West Deptford and was a former resident of Leesburgh, VA prior to moving to Glen Spey NY 12 years ago. Mary attended St. Matthew's, Gloucester Catholic, Mount St. Mary's in Newburgh and Rutgers. Prior to retiring, Mary was a civilian auditor for the Department of Defense for nearly 40 years. She was an Associate with the Dominican Sisters of Hope and Third Order Lay Dominicans out of Newburgh, NY. An active member of the community, Mary was treasurer for Professional Womens' Association of Sullivan County and enjoyed activities with the Senior Citizen Group. Mary was a breeder of poodles and actively involved in the American Kennel Club. Family Beloved daughter of the late, James E. and Mary A. (nee Hall) Geiger; loving sister of Ann Geiger- Smith (Tom), James H. Geiger (Carol), Leonora Geiger-Miller (John Gabriel) and Gerard "Gerry" Geiger; dear aunt of Lisa, Matthew, Caroline and James, and great aunt of Andrew, Ethan, Paige, Fin, Jackson and Raelynn.. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to Mary's Graveside Services on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
