Carol Rodgers Eddings
November 13th, 1940 - November 9th, 2020
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother joined her loving family with God in heaven on Monday, November 9, 2020. She left behind a great legacy with her doting husband and children. Carol was the daughter of the late Robert (Bob) and Emma Rodgers. She was born and raised in the great Granby Olympia Mill area. She was a graduate of Olympia High School with the class of ‘59. She was a long-term employee for the State of South Carolina for 20+ years where she happily retired in '98-'99. After retirement she enjoyed spending her everyday life being a wonderful home maker and backbone/matriarch to her family. In her spare time, she read and completed crossword puzzles which she loved. Carol was an avid member of Victory Fellowship Church of God. Those left to cherish in her loving memory include her husband of 54 years, Ronald T. Eddings; daughter, Renee E. Schriver (Dale); son, Ronald W. Eddings (Melissa); five grandchildren: Brandi Langley (Thomas), Kelsey Wallace (Luke), Harley Schriver (Mia), Emmalie Eddings (Matthew), Noah Eddings; five great-grandchildren: Carolina, Timothy, Kayden, Lonnie and Myles. Carol also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma M. Rodgers, Robert (Bob) Rodgers; sister, Barbara Lou Martin; brothers, Walter M. Rodgers, Harold D. Rodgers. Services will be held in Lexington at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073. The family invites those who are able and would like to celebrate Carol’s life on her birthday, November 13, 2020 at 3:00pm in the chapel. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Michael Medlin Sr, Wayne Gunter, Bruce Jackson, Moses Raysor. Carol led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle. Carol was strong, determined and fiercely independent woman and we will miss her every day.
