Linda Brantley McGill, 77, of West Columbia, wife of Jerry McGill, Sr, passed away on December 2, 2020 at her residence. Born November 5, 1943 in Rock Hill, SC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Franklin and Kathleen Wright Brantley. Linda was employed as a Logistics Supervisor with the Loxcreen Company until her retirement. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Senior Sunday School Class. Her greatest joy however, was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who instilled the love of family to everyone she met. Most of all, her family remembers her as a very giving person. She spent many years caring for others and taking care of her family. In addition to her loving husband of 59 years, she is survived by three sons, Jerry McGill, Jr (Amanda) of Lexington, Brian McGill of Lexington and Scott McGill (Tara) of West Columbia; nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many extended family members and loving friends. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Boland; a brother, Dale Brantley and loving daughter-in-law Tonya “Toni” McGill. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, December 7th at the Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Don Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Todd McGill, Cameron McGill, Andrew McGill, Jason Sharpe, Wesley Sharpe and Chris Roof. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials may do so to The Oliver Gospel Mission, 1100 Taylor Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the McGill Family.
