Bobbie Louise (Roland) Laney passed into the comfort of Jesus’ arms on January 10, 2021. She was the daughter of Lee and Opal Roland (both deceased) of Warrensville, NC. Her three sisters, Nona, Evelyn, and Linda, still live in the area. Her brother, Edgar, affectionately known as Bunny, passed in December. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Charles Floyd Burton Jr, and her second husband of 17 years, Billy A Laney. She had six children: Charles L Burton (Sherry) of West Columbia, Craig Laney (Jeannie) of Tomball, TX, James Laney (Jimmie) of West Columbia, Bruce Laney (Enid) of Elgin, Billy Laney (Kandie) of Lexington, and Susan Laney Kirby (Ben) of Chapin. And 18 grandchildren: Rebekah Burton, Rachel Jones (Bill), Sarah Dekker (Paul), Charles F Burton III (Randa), Bryanna Ackermann (Rob), Michael Burton, Zachary Lucas, Josh Laney (Jenny), Kendall Calvo (Tomas), Bruce Laney Jr (Cheryl), Nik Laney (Morgan), Jamie Culbreth (Lee), Jessica Ford (James), Alex Kirby (Faith), Jacob Kirby, Zachary Kirby, Blakeleigh Laney, and Wyatt Laney. And 17 great-grandchildren: Lexi Brannon, Isaiah Burton, Jayda Johnson, Aiden Dekker, Brooklyn Burton, Addison Dekker, Kinsley Burton, Gavin Dekker, Paisley Burton, Charlotte Jones, Garrett Jones, Sage Kirby, Sydney Culbreth, Presslee Culbreth, Ella Laney, Makiley Ford, and Micah Ford. Bobbie was blessed to have such a large family who loved he. She will be interred at Celestial Memorial Gardens after a memorial service in the chapel at the cemetery. The Reverend Scott Efird of Ashland United Methodist Church will officiate the memorial service. Grandson Jacob Laney will sing her favorite hymn, Beulah Land, and her pall bearers will be her grandsons Nik Laney, Chuck Burton, Michael Burton, Alex Kirby, Jacob Kirby, Zachary Kirby, Paul Dekker, and Bill Jones.
