Barbara Elizabeth Doyle went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2021. She was born March 30, 1937 to the late Wilbur and Marie Hoff Sheppard. Barb is survived by her children, Robert Doyle (Deresa), Margaret Showalter, and Elizabeth Doyle (Matt); and her grandchildren, Geoffrey, Adrian, Jace, and Hannah. Barb was a member of Surfside Methodist Church, in Surfside Beach, SC for 10 years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1959 and continued to practice as a registered nurse for her entire professional career. In retirement, she continued her passion for caring and serving in the community with various organizations. Some of the organizations where she served were the Murrells Inlet Fire Department where she was the volunteer coordination and Crisis Assistance Ministry in Gastonia NC. She also gave back as a troop leader for her local Girl Scouts troop. A memorial service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at 4720 Augusta Rd. Lexington, SC 29073 on Thursday Feb. 11, 2021 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable donations be made to Sister Care (www.sistercare.org) in Barbara’s name.
