Elizabeth "Bette" Barbara Elliott

Elizabeth Barbara Elliott (nee Zagorski), formerly of Woodbury, NJ, passed away on February 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Legacy Bette lived a long life filled with a lot of love. Growing up in Shenandoah Pa, the youngest daughter of 8 kids, ‘Little Jimji’ was the apple of the family’s eye. She graduated at the top of her high school class before working as a talented seamstress. She met Jack Elliott of Main St, they fell in love and married. After an adventurous honeymoon in NYC, they started a life in Woodbury, NJ. Bette was a do-er. She had 3 kids in a row, Sean, Lisa and Mark, and loved to dress them up to take them on the bus to explore Philly. Bette and Jack added two more kids to their tribe, Mary 5 years later then Laura 7 years after that. As her family grew up, Bette could do it all! Cook for 30, have amazing memorable holidays, balance the books, play bridge, plan great travel, crochet blankets for the birth of her grandbabies, make her kid’s curtains, slip covers & bridesmaid dresses and help her kids raise their babies. She loved to tell stories about her Dad, an immigrant from Poland. She also loved Clover Day, attending plays, a good piece of rye bread in the morning and making homemade French fries for her family late on a Saturday night. She was the wind beneath her family’s wings and her legacy of love and devotion will live on through her kids and her 16 grandchildren who she loved dearly and was always there for them. She will be celebrated in her long held Catholic faith as we send her off to God where she can join her husband, parents, sisters, brothers and dear friends. Family Beloved wife of the late John F. “ Jack” Elliott; devoted mother of Sean (Ellie) Elliott, Lisa Elliott (Gregory) Rendelman, Mark (Katie) Elliott, Mary Elliott and Laura Elliott (Brian) Voelker; loving grandmother of Kathleen, Tracey, Robert, Brad, Carley, Alexis, Chelsea, Mark, Tara, Ryan, Tori, Amanda, DJ, Blair, Jack, and Brendan; great grandmother of Robert Jr, Cade. Brielle, Maria, Kevin, Brian, Shane, Zachary, Jordan, Jacob, Abby, Charlotte, Gregory, Augie, Leo, Nicholas, Samantha, Luke, Olivia, Grant, Hannah, Claire, Rachel, Holly, Andrew, Emma, and great great grandmother of Robert III and Julianna. Farewell Ceremony Relatives and friends are invited to Bette’s Memorial Mass on Friday, February 18, 2022, 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick’s RC Church, 64 Cooper Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. Interment will follow at Woodbury Memorial Park, West Deptford, NJ.
