Sarah Sorrentino
June 1st, 1922 - December 15th, 2022
Sarah Sorrentino (nee Ipri), of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the age of 100 and a half. Legacy Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Sarah has lived with her daughter Annette in West Deptford for the past 36 years. Sarah was devoted to her family and had a loving and strong relationship with each of them. Many fond memories were made with family gatherings, playing cards, or at the many trips to the casinos. They attended the opening of the first casino in Atlantic City and spent many weekend trips trying their luck. Another pastime was the competitive games of Scrabble between Salvatore and Sarah; once Salvatore passed away, Annette and Valerie joined the game. Sarah was loving, strong willed and was not afraid to let you know her opinion...whether you liked it or not. In saying that, Sarah had enormous faith and family and friends were comforted knowing that if Sarah said she would pray for you, the prayer was said. Family Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Sorrentino: devoted mother of Annette Guzzo and her husband Anthony and Valerie Lizzio and her late husband Alfred; cherished grandmother of Mark (Susan) Guzzo, Stephanie (Paul ) Pallen, Robert (Stacia) Guzzo, Matthew Guzzo (Laura) and Laura Guzzo; loving great grandmother of Sabrina and Melissa Pallen, Adam and Lucas Guzzo, Mya, Gio, Rose and Danny Guzzo, Eli and Isaac Guzzo. Sarah is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and predeceased by her 10 siblings. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sarah's viewing on Thursday, December 22, 2022, 8:30 - 10:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street Woodbury, NJ. McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury
We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
