In Memory of Sarah “Sadie” Marie Fitzgerald 1938 – 2023 Obituary of Sarah Marie Fitzgerald Sarah M. Fitzgerald passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, after 84 years of blessing everyone around her with joy and generosity rooted in her faith and compassionate heart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, beloved grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Legacy Born October 13, 1938, to William Joseph and Sadie Marie Sergonne, she grew up in National Park, New Jersey. A retiree from National Park Elementary School, who enjoyed multiple positions during her tenure and gained lifetime friendships throughout the years. She loved the many friends she made at NP Elementary and would get together often with other retirees for lunch outings. She relished in her Monday Canasta days with the girls (Rosemarie, Sue, Helen, JoAnn and the late Barbara & Joyce). She also delighted in time spent on casino trips with her best friends Rosemarie and Sue. Sadie was an extraordinary woman and always put others before herself. She loved unconditionally and was quick with a smile or laugh. She derived great pleasure in seeing the joy that was brought by giving unique gifts to family and friends. She cherished time spent with family. She made every holiday festive with her love of decorating. She had a great zest for life, never missed the opportunity to go out shopping, dancing, or dining. She loved making people smile. Above all she adored time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they meant the world to her. In years past, she loved spending time with her husband Patrick at home in their patio or down the shore in the Villas. Family She is the beloved wife of 52 years to the late Patrick Fitzgerald; loving mother of Sarah DiPadova, Eileen Murphy (Michael) & the late Patricia Ann Fitzgerald; world’s best Mom-Mom to Brenna (Jim), Brittny (Zach), Robbie (Emily), Hope (Kyle), Katrina (Chris) & Nicolette; great grandmother to Reed, Jaxson, Bryce, Nora, Scarlett, Cecelia and the soon to arrive baby Peck & baby May. Not to be forgotten her furbaby Bella Rose. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation at the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 6-8 PM and again on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 8:30-10 AM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at Holy Angles Parish at St. Matthews Church, 4th & Monmouth St., National Park. Interment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
