John P Woods, of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was 85. Legacy Jack Woods, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away in 2023. Born in Philadelphia in 1938, Jack graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1955 and served honorably in the army until 1963, exploring the world with a heart dedicated to service. In 1974, Jack and his family settled in Woodbury, NJ, where he cultivated a life rich in love and community. An avid reader and sports enthusiast, Jack found joy in the written word and passionately cheered for the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers. A devoted Catholic, Jack lived by the principles of compassion and selflessness, putting others ahead of himself. His greatest joy was found in the moments spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and enduring love. Family Jack is the beloved husband of Penny (nee Huston); loving father of John Woods, III (Marife), Michael Woods (Liz) and Jennifer Woods; dear grandfather of Chazz Cooper, Mason Cooper, Avery Woods; dear brother of Margaret Terry and the late Thomas Woods, James Woods, Mary Alice Jones and Carol Simpson. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack's visitation on Saturday, October 7, 2023 after 10 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury where his Memorial Service will follow at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association by visiting https://www.alz.org/delval
