Florence Bateson Berry, age 100, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Hilton Head on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. She was a graduate of Chapin School in NY and Bennington College in VT. She was a talented sculptress and beloved teacher to many elementary school children of years past. Florence leaves behind two daughters, Rosina B. Dixon and Cindy Berry; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and sister, Rosina B. Rue. Her husband of 64 years, Loren; son Roger and grandson Jason died before her. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head. Instead of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928 or Memory Matters, 117 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.
