C. Lynne Shira

On Sunday, December 13, 2020, C. Lynne Shira, loving mother of two children and grandmother of 7 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 86. Lynne was born on October 22, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Milton and Coral (Davis) Faulring. She received her Bachelor of Science cum laude degree from Syracuse University on June 4, 1956, and married Gerald (“Gerry”) D. Shira II on June 16, 1956. They raised a son and a daughter, Scott and Donna. Lynne loved to travel, but her favorite place to be was always her cottage on Keuka Lake. Lynne continued to stay at the cottage every summer after Gerry passed away and it has been a favorite place to visit for her children and grandchildren over the years. She was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed participating in the annual Bird Count on Hilton Head. She loved walking on the beach or on the golf course behind her house, playing bridge with her friends, and volunteering at the Bargain Box. She was known for her sweet nature, her great smile, and her generous spirit. Lynne was preceded in death by her mother, Coral, her father, Milton, and her husband, Gerry. She is survived by her two children, Scott and Donna, her grandchildren, Stephanie, Griffin, Adriana, Justin, Alex, Bill, and Peter, and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
