Jay Samuels, 83, of Hilton Head Island, unexpectedly passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. Jay was born on December 18, 1937 in Albany, NY to Jerome Suckno and Edith Tabachneck. Jay graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music studying bassoon with the world-renowned Sol Schoenbach. But his first love, other than his wife Mary, was piano. Jay performed for six decades sharing his gift and making memories. Jay is survived by his wife and best friend Mary; sons Solomon and Aaron; in-laws Vincent and Estelle Carbone; sisters-in-law and their husbands Lisa and Bobby Ryder and Denise and Tim Bier and many cousins, nieces and a nephew. A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 19 at 4 pm at Six Oaks Cemetery in Sea Pines with Rabbi Brad Bloom officiating. All are welcome to pay their respects.
