Patricia "Patsy" A. Boyle
July 4th, 1936 - January 20th, 2023
Patricia(Patsy) Anne Boyle (86), of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on Jan 20, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Patsy was born in Washington, DC on July 4, 1936 to Albert and Margaret Rosetta. She grew up thinking the world was celebrating her birthday. She lived large and loved larger. Family was everything to her. A natural athlete, Patsy went to the University of Maryland studying Physical Education. She was a proud member of Kappa Delta – AOP. This is also where she met the love of her life, Pat Boyle. They were married on June 23, 1956. Patsy was proud to have worked as the secretary to Col Charles Tegtmeyer, the Deputy Commanding Officer for the US Army Medical Services Combat Development Group(MASH). She worked at IBM for more than 18 years and retired at 55 to enjoy life in Hilton Head. Patsy loved any and all sports, especially college football. She played volleyball, softball, tennis and golf. She was proud of the Hole-in-One she got on her birthday. She played and won several Bionic Invitational Golf Tournaments as well as many tournaments at Dolphin Head Golf Club. Patsy loved the Lord. She went to mass at St Francis Catholic Church every day. She was a leader at Community Bible Study and had a weekly prayer group. She loved welcoming friends and family to her home. She selflessly worked to help others, often opening her home to those in need. Patsy had a very sharp mind and wit. Part of her daily routine was doing the NY Times crossword puzzle. She loved playing bridge and Mahjong. Patsy recently lost her brother Leo. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Pat Boyle and her 3 children, John Boyle(Luray), Peggy Saunders(Grant) and Ellie Snider(James), brother Larry(Claudette) and Sister in Law, Maureen. She loved being Nana to her 6 grandsons, Jason Boyle, Justin Boyle(Vanessa), Josh Banks(Flavia), Rob Banks, Jake Snider and Luke Snider, great-grandchildren, Hadley and Carson Banks, Tristan, Asher and Sienna Boyle and Kaleb Snider. She also had many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Friends of Caroline Hospice or Hospice Care of the Lowcountry in her name.
