David "Dave" L. Wright

On February 8, 2023 David Lowell Wright passed away at MUSC at the age of 82. He was born in Newark, OH on August 10, 1940 to the late Ralph and Mary Wright in Newark OH. He was an only child. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rodey Webb; his daughter, Susan Wright, Marion, OH; his step-children Julie (Dan) Bigger, Hilton Head; Rob (Laurie) Munson, Taylor Mill, KY, and Nancy Munson, Plain City, OH; grandchildren Lilly, Kenzie, Josh and Noll Bigger; Hillary (Steven) Justice, Nicholas (Rachael) Munson; Andrew (Mikaila) Munson; Catie (Mark) Myers; Jenni (Dustin) Munson; Sarah (James) Bergund, and all of his nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife of 30 years, Joy Wright and step-son Dan Munson. Dave was a graduate of Ohio State University and Case Western University with a degree in physics. He retired from NASA Lewis Research Center, after a 30-year career. He loved playing tennis with the Big Dawgs, loved to fish, take the grandchildren tubing and watch them play all their various sports events. Services will be held at the Island Funeral Home and Crematory, 4 Cardinal Road, HHI, SC, on Friday, February 17, 2023. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am with the funeral at 11:00 am followed by a reception until 1:00 pm. Donations can be made to the Leukemia Society.
