Denise Skelly

Denise Skelly of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on December 15, 2023, at Savannah Memorial Hospital after a sudden decline in health. She was 77 years old. She was born in Alpena, MI. To James McGough & Anna Williams. She was raised by her mother and Dorothy & Ted Staats. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Douglas N. Skelly, son Charles Douglas Skelly, grandsons Kyle & Owen, granddaughter Isabella of Hilton Head; daughter Kimberly Ann Wilson, son in law Jeff Wilson and grandson Connor & granddaughter Sydnie of Manhattan Beach Ca. Denise grew up in Detroit, MI. & lived in Rochester, MI., Greenwich, CT., Davenport, FL., and Hilton Head Island, SC. Denise along with her husband founded and managed High Tide Associates on HHI in 1997 and served as Vice President for 25 years. She liked playing golf which included traveling to play with her Greenwich golf pals, both domestically and internationally. She liked doo-wop music, her pugs, sewing, tending to her flower and herb/pepper garden, playing bridge, and especially loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting. Welcoming all those unable to go home for the holidays a spot at her table. She had a quick wit, a great sense of humor. Was quick to laugh and loved a great story. She was well-loved by everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed. Collectively our family’s hearts have joined as one and her memory will live on through us all and all the lives that she touched. A private celebration of life will be held in her memory.
