Terry Alan Ramey gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in his home on Hilton Head Island, surrounded by loved ones. Terry was the son of Curtis Woodrow & Nona Bernice Ramey of Perrysville, the brother to Curtis (Amy) Ramey of Hilton Head, SC, to Steven Ramey of Lansing, MI, Jo Anne (Mel) Reinthal of Perrysville, OH, James (Lorri) Ramey of Loudonville and Julie (Stephen) Conley of Hilton Head. Terry’s brother Guy Thomas Ramey passed away in 2012. Terry was the father and mentor to many, including his children Jessica Lynn (Damian) Long Haddonfield, NJ, Andrew Scott Ramey (Meg) Boston, MA, Abigail Marie (Nick) Ross Chapel Hill, NC, Brian Spencer Ramey, Pittsburgh, PA and Nicholas Aaron Ramey Charleston, SC. Terry was a loving step-father to Thomas (Brooke) Jester of McClean Virginia and Laura (Justin) and their children Connor & Caroline Krebs of Charleston, SC. Terry was the proud Grandpa to: Calvin Ross, Wade Ross, Desmond Long & Pierce Long. Terry graduated a year early as a proud Loudonville Redbird in 1978. Following High School, Terry moved to Columbus & graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Computer Science… going on to receive an MBA in Business and Manufacturing from Wake Forest University in 1992. Terry was a proud father and spent considerable time supporting his children and even coaching their various sporting teams. Terry started his career in Management at General Electric, then went on to become a Senior Executive for more than 25 years in various industries including Healthcare, Pharmacy, Benefits Management, Retail, Manufacturing and Professional Services. Terry was always a result oriented, driven individual who expected the very best from everyone, always. Terry was the consummate do it yourselfer and loved fixing up homes & home construction and design. He always loved the smell of fresh construction and was the absolute best painter (just ask him). Terry traveled worldwide, but made a home in many areas including North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio and also Canada. Terry was a pilot, loved to fly his plane and travel to competitive golf tournaments with his brother Curtis. Terry’s love of golf, fine scotch, a good cigar combined with his natural competitiveness made for a good match here on Hilton Head Island. Terry enjoyed his life on the island, with lots of family and friends while living in both Windmill Harbor and lastly in Wexford for the past several years. Tragically, Terry lost his wife Diane Rose Ramey in early 2021. Diane has 3 children, Brett Burman, Erica Burman and Natalie Burman, all of whom Terry supported and loved. Later, Terry met Kim Davis & proposed marriage on the beach of Turks Caicos on February 16th, 2024. Terry and Kim traveled with their dog Samson to many places and truly enjoyed a blessed and joyful time together. Enjoying life and spending quality time with family and friends was always a favorite pastime. Everyone that came across Terry’s path would have to say that he absolutely lived life to the fullest, loved his family fiercely and gave many of us the wisdom needed to navigate the steps of life. Terry will be remembered at the Island Funeral Home, Wednesday May 8th, 2024 @ 1:00.
