Nancy Poston Bartram

Nancy Poston Bartram passed away at home on Thursday, January 28, 2021 of natural causes. Born in Hannah, SC on March 9, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Watts Chalmers Poston of Hannah and the late James Howard and Eloise Poston Wilson of Blythewood, SC. She attended school in Blythewood, SC and went on to attend Winthrop College. From there she set out to “see the world” and enjoyed a long career as a flight attendant, working with several airlines. Starting out, briefly, with Pan Am, then many years with Eastern Airlines, Kiwi, World, and American Airlines until she retired in 2014. She lived in several areas of the country but settled in the Washington DC Metro area of Maryland, where she lived for over 30 years. She was very creative and usually had several projects going at the same time. She always welcomed a challenge with determination, especially when someone doubted her capability. She had an amazing rapport with animals, having rescued and lovingly cared for many cats and dogs, even taking in a water logged sparrow hawk for a time. After she retired in 2014 she moved to Sun City in Bluffton, SC. There she enjoyed playing Bocce, gardening, wood working and dining out with friends. She was a loving and devoted mother and a strong independent woman. She was Nancy, Mom, Nan and she will be missed and loved always. She is survived by her daughter Brooke Bartram, step children Scott Bartram (Peggy), Kathryn Santarsiero (Dominic) and Bruce Bartram, her brother, Tracy Poston and his wife Rosie, her niece, Debbie Poston, nephew, Wayne Poston (Lisa), great niece, Linzee Brower (Sam), great nephew, Trey Poston (Jessica), and Jordan Portillo (Mikayla), her many Poston and Wilson relatives, and her very special friends Fred and Stephanie Goodman and their family. Due to COVID-19 services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Updates will be posted here at the link and shared. The family wishes to thank her wonderful friends and neighbors in Sun City for all of their kindness and support.
