Joyce R Allen

Joyce R. Allen, 73, of Columbia, SC passed away at the Columbia Community Hospice House on Friday, July 8, 2022. Joyce was born Wednesday, December 15, 1948 in Presque Isle, Maine to the late Robert C and Ruth (Lint) Rand. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Buddy Rand. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Phillip S. Allen; two daughters with their husbands, Christina Unekis with Stephen Unekis; Angela Arndt with Pierre Arndt; three grandchildren, Zechariah Wallace, Alexa Unekis and Joshua Unekis; her sister, Debbie Trexler, with her husband Lee Trexler; nieces and nephews with their families. She is also survived by her step-mother Dot Rand; and sisters, Sharon Barnett (Douglas Barnett) and Sheryl Santelmann (Doug Santelmann). Joyce touched every heart she came in contact with and will be dearly missed. Her love language was hugs. We would also like to acknowledge our family and friends in Germany. Please know that she loved all of you dearly and considered you family. There will be a graveside funeral service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 2:00pm Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Pastor Mike Townsend will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
