The only child born to Horace and Georgeanna Hill in Pittsburg, Texas November 7, 1929, passed peacefully January 5th, 2020 at 90 years old, in Summerville, SC. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Adele Hill and their six children: George, Doug (Monica), Jim, Melody (John), Charlie (Jen) and Laura (Jess), as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. George graduated with a Masters in Music Education from Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) in Portales, New Mexico. He went on to lead award winning high school bands in Texas and New Mexico. George served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was in the 65th Army Band in Ft.Bliss, El Paso, Texas. He also was in Jazz bands and played as a session musician, following his love of playing the sax. George's musical career spanned for years, when The Selmer Company moved his family to the East Coast, where he remained for the rest of his years. George had a passion for model airplanes from an early age. He was an expert pattern flyer in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). His love for flying model airplanes bridged into designing model airplanes and creating Airborne R/C Distributors. He continued his hobby of building and flying model airplanes well into his later years. His multifaceted abilities also included building custom homes on the Maryland Eastern Shore. For 55 years George and Mary lived in Virginia, Maryland and South Carolina where he spent his final years continuing his entrepreneurial spirit in various endeavors. George passed peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by loving family. He will be laid to rest in the family plot in Pittsburg, Texas, his place of birth. Family will gather to celebrate George Hill's life at a later date to be selected. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Alzheimer's Association in his honor .
