Herbert Jenkins Jr.

Herbert Lee Jenkins Jr, 58, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on August 14th, 2018 in Goose Creek, SC. Herbert was born in Charleston, SC to Herbert Lee Jenkins Sr (father) and Johnnie Lee Jones-Jenkins (mother) on July 23rd, 1960. He was a graduate of Middleton High School. He married Mary DeVore-Jenkins on January 15, 2014 in Moncks Corner, SC. He served the community as a butcher for thirty-six years. In his leisure time, Herbert enjoyed fishing, watching football, attending sporting events and hanging out with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother as well as his grandson Panama Jenkins Jr. Herbert is survived by his wife, Mary; children, ReZsaun (Latoya) Lewis, Danita Sawyer, Ashlyn (Sidney) Richardson, Dane Fleming, Panama (Anna) Jenkins, Simone Jenkins, Davonte Jenkins, Shaniya Jones, and Tatelyn Jones; siblings, Myron (Janice) Jenkins, Ricky (Darlene) Jenkins, Carolyn (Freddie) Lewis, and Thayne (Urshala) Jenkins; 16 grandchildren, and a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation services will be on Friday, August 24th, from 6-8pm at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services (281 Treeland Drive, Ladson SC 29456.) Funeral services will be held at Saturday, August 25th, from 11am – 1pm at New Bethel Sounds of Praise, 351 Greyback Rd, Summerville, SC 29483.
