“HOMEGOING SERVICES FOR BROTHER RICHARD GEIGER” God called Richard Geiger home on Friday, December 31, 2022. Richard was born in Charleston, SC on February 3, 1946, the son of the late Robert Geiger and Dorothy Young Geiger. He graduated from Chicora High School in N. Charleston, SC. He served at Charleston Naval Shipyard for over 20 years. He was a medical transcriptionist for many doctors in the Charleston area. He was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church, Summerville, SC for over 20 years where his passion for serving our Lord Jesus Christ expressed itself as he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Music Minister, and many years as part of Vacation Bible School. He also coached Salem Baptist Church’s softball teams (ladies and co-ed). Richard was predeceased by both his parents, his niece Lisa, and a special brother-in-law Bubba Grooms. He is survived by his loving wife Regina; two children, Richie and Rachel; three step-children, Hunter, Brandon, and Victoria; several grandchildren; brother Van (Audrey) Geiger; sister Gloria Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Salem Baptist Church, 321 Old Summerville Rd, Summerville, SC 29486. Visitation will be Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00pm Service to begin at 2:00pm Saturday, January 7,2023 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church general fund.
