Elgin, South Carolina – SFC (US Army, Ret.) Thomas Robert Miller, 73, of Elgin, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022. He was the son of the late Robert H. and Mildred Smith Miller. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army for 22 years including a tour in Vietnam. He also deployed to Germany, where he met his wife who was serving there in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW Post 11079, the D.A.V. and the American Legion Post 0195. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Joyce Miller, two brothers; Jim Miller and wife Linda of Elgin, TX and Jeff Miller and wife April of Brevard, NC, two sisters; Sandie Czarnick and husband Jerry of Grand Island, NE and Susan Mansur and husband Rick of Mills River, NC, and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his niece, Jeri Lynn Czarnick, his great niece, Alex Czarnick and his mother and father- in- law, Earl W. and Madeline Cobin. A visitation for Tom Miller will be held at Alpine Baptist Church, 4930 Alpine Road, Columbia, SC, 29223 on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:00am with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.
