Larry Lamar Smith
Larry Lamar Smith, 69 of North Charleston died on Wednesday, April 2 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Smith was born on July 23, 1944 in Charleston to Chesley and Mary (Wise) Smith. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of the Charleston area where he had worked as a truck driver. He is remembered for his love of fishing, hunting and motorcycles. His pride and joy was his grandchildren who called him “Papa.” He is survived by his children: Tabbathie “Tabby” (Duane) Smith of Hanahan, Carl “Ricky” (Kelly) Miller of Turbeville, Jason (Courtnay) Smith of Goose Creek, Chesley “Lee” Williams of Panama City, FL, Clarissa Williams of Port Arthur, TX, John Williams Jr. of North Charleston, a brother, John Williams Sr. of Spartanburg, Grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Westin, Coltin, Austin, and Kimberlynne. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Harry, Wylie and Clarence. Visitation for Mr. Smith will take place on Friday, April 4 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services (7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston SC 29418). Funeral services celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, April 5 at 10:00AM at Simplicity. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services.
