Carolyn Davis Hammond – Edisto Island, SC Carolyn Hammond, age 75, of Edisto Island passed away January 30, 2016 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Born December 25, 1939 in Norway, SC she was the daughter of Judson and Estelle Davis Sr. Preceded in death by her husband Richard Arnold Hammond and two brothers, Joe and Paul Davis. She is survived by her brother Judson Davis Jr. (Fran Davis), her son Richard A. “Dickie” Hammond Jr. (Donna Hammond), her daughter Carol Hammond “Stacy” Shuler (Dwight M. Shuler Jr.), and six grandchildren, Richard A. “Chipper” Hammond III, Caroline Hammond, Dylan Shuler, Brandi Shuler, Grayson Brazil, and Evan Brazil. Carolyn was a retired school teacher from Indianland High School and graduated from Winthrop University with a masters in history. A memorial services will be held at the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island, February 2 at 2:00 PM, reception following. In lieu of flowers the family reqest donations to the Presbyterian Church of Edisto Island.
