Alan Gyles Douglas Nicholson passed on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Awendaw, SC. Many don’t know, but his initials AGDN also means (Another Gosh Darn Nicholson). Truly one of a kind, he was far from just another. A world traveler, he never met a stranger, and lived more life in 44 years than most do in 80. An Army Veteran, Alan spent much of his adult life as a Social Worker, counseling others who wrestled with similar issues as him. Alan once had a tiny motorcycle strapped to the back of his tiny van home. A friend asked, “What are you gonna do with that thing?” His simple yet profound response, “Live.” Gone too soon, but we must say, Alan lived. He is survived by his daughter Camila Nicholson; Mother, Mindi O’Kane; Stepmother, Christy Nicholson; Brother, Mike (Trisha) Nicholson and 2 nieces; Half-Brother Chris (Amanda) Nicholson and 1 niece; and a half-sister, Terri (Eric) Dodgson. Proceeded by his father Glenn Nicholson. Memorial service is still being planned. Buonanotte Ti Amo In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
