Charleston, South Carolina – Worley Eugene Johnson, 54, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at a hospice center in Summerville, SC. Funeral services TBD. Cremation services being performed by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, North Charleston, SC. Worley was born January 18, 1969, in Charleston, SC. He is the son of Worley Tom Johnson and Joanne Giles. He was married to Dena Hardison on March 24, 2001. Worley was a loving husband and devoted father to his five children. He loved fishing and the ocean and playing with his animals, but his true joy came from his wife, children, and grandchildren with whom he spent most of his time. Worley’s most powerful characteristics were his incredible energy that uplifted everyone around him and his ability to make anyone laugh at anytime and these qualities made him one of the most warm, caring and lovable people you could ever know. Worley is survived by his wife, Dena Hardison, his five children, Brittany Rose DuPeire and husband Austyn DuPeire , Katelyn Lindauer and husband Aeron Lindauer, Jamie Higginson and husband Sam Higginson, Hope Brown and boyfriend Soter Thomas III, and Austin Johnson and girlfriend Brittney Wilson, his grandchildren, Avery and Lincoln DuPeire, Rhett, Jamison and Hudson, Ellie Mae Higginson, and his six siblings, Nancy Smith, Lydia Johnson, Maggie Watts, Niki Johnson, Tonya Blocker and husband Sammy Blocker, and Joe Johnson and wife Tracey Johnson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Giles and father, Worley Johnson.
