Ms. Colon will be laid to rest in Woodridge Memorial Park following the service. The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 prior to the service at Thompson Funeral Home. Josie passed away at her home December 23, 2018. Born in Stamford, CT, she was a daughter of Cindy Colon and Jose Colon, Sr. Josie Colon was born in Stamford, Connecticut on August 5, 1983. In November of 1989, as a little girl she went to Sandalwood Elementary School, then St. Andrews Middle School, and finally, Dutch Fork High School. As a budding flower, she gave birth to her first born son, Jaylin Jose Pollock. A few years later, a second angel was bestowed upon her, and Josie named him Jacob Pollock. Josie lived her life in a free-spirited manner, she was fun loving and very opinionated. She always spoke her mind, whether it was positive or negative. Josie’s opinions made her personality shine; her infectious smile and laugh will stay in our minds forever through the years. Josie’s most memorable job and responsibility was being a mother to her two sons. Her hard work and dedication led to Jaylin’s and Jacob’s successes, and she should be remembered as “Wonder Woman”, with a little bit of the same taste in the super suit. Josie is survived by her parents; her sons, Jaylin Jose Colon and Jacob Colon; brothers; David “DJ” Levine, Jr, (Deena) of Irmo, and Jose “J.J.” Colon of Irmo; sisters, Melissa Levine of Irmo, Abby Colon, Daisy Colon, Belinda Colon of Connecticut. Josie is also survived by a large and loving family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, 7 Richland Medical Park Dr., Columbia, SC 29203.
