Born in Beltsville, MD, she was a daughter of Tena Edith Mabel Zook, and the late Gordon Jeoffrey Shriver, and her late step-father, Leonard W. Charles. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often engaging in lengthy card games. She was generous to a fault and enjoyed cooking for others. She liked the simple things in life, like spending time with her cat, Toby and tending to her plants and flowers. She enjoyed caring for her young grandchildren and teaching them to play cards and build forts in the woods. She graduated from Galion High School in Ohio. She retired after 40+ years as an administrative assistant, but her real passion was drawing and writing. Her family continues to enjoy her writings and portraits. She was an active member of the Lexington North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved time spent at The Assemblies with her friends and sisters, Mary and Karen. In addition to her mother, Nancy is survived by her daughters, Leslie Renee Jones (Kenneth) of Lexington, Leanda Rachele Walter (Miguel Montalvo) of Cumming, GA, Lanissa Rae Summerour (Bryant) of, Monroe, GA; son, Aaron Kelly; grandchildren, Jamie Stinehelfer, Jesse Jones, Ashley Walter, Ricky Walter (Ashley), Erin Moore, Logan Kelly; great-grandchildren, Austin Hildebrand, Ayla Walter, Brooklyn Johnson, London Johnson, Hayden Walter; siblings, Mary Burton, Lenny Charles, Steven Charles, Johnathan Charles, Karen Land, Eldon Charles. Nancy is also survived by her beloved cat, Toby. In addition to her father, Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Bittner, and her brother, Eric Charles. The family would like to thank the many healthcare professionals who cared for her with grace and dignity, especially Lexington Medical Center’s Medical Intensive Care Unit and 9th Floor. The family would like to thank members of her Kingdom Hall family for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1461 Pisgah Church Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
