COLUMBIA: Ernest Renwood "Renny" Lacy passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, after a long courageous battle. Born May 20, 1942 to the late Ernest and Alease Lacy in Richmond, VA; and where he met the love of his life, Corey Ann Hicks. They eloped in 1962 and started a family when Renny graduated from Virginia Tech in 1965. Renny and Corey Ann moved to Columbia, SC, in 1978 but remained "loyal" Hokie fans and enjoyed going to Va. Tech football games with old friends. Renny retired from Westinghouse as an Engineering Manager and was also a member of United Methodist Church. His greatest love was spending time with family and going to Myrtle Beach. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Corey Ann, and 3 devoted children, Kimberly Lacy Wilson and husband Scott, Pipia Renee Stutts and husband Jerome and Christopher Renwood Lacy and wife Tiffany. Renny had 6 grandchildren that worshipped him, Corey Scott Wilson, Elizebeth Clarke Wilson, Brittany Ann Lacy, Sean Lamar Stutts, Carter Renwood Lacy and Garrett Christopher Lacy. He was a brother to Blair Lacy and wife Vickie of Marietta, GA., and he was known as "Uncle Renny" to his beautiful nieces, Lindsey and husband Graham, and Jenna Lacy. The family would like to thank Lexington Oncology Associates and Dr. Asheesh Lal for his care and knowledge, and all our friends who have been so good to us. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sharing God's Love at 147 Friarsgate Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063. The family will receive friends after a private ceremony Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 1 until 3 p.m. at their home. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family.
