Johnny "John" Duane Arnold, 57, of Hopkins passed away peacefully Sunday September 29, 2013 at Palmetto Health Richland. Born August 16, 1956, in McAlester, OK, he was a son of Betty Chamness and late Johnny Lee Arnold. John received a degree in Master of Science with a major in Computer Information Technology from Almeda University and was most recently employed with Richland County School District 1 in the IT department. He was a member of the Earlewood Masonic Lodge 371 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. John was a big fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, he also enjoyed grilling out and loved working at Keenan High school as the IT man and always had a wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy "Darcy" Louise Arnold of Hopkins; former wife, Suzanne F. Owens, of Hopkins; significant other, Debbie Wise, of Chapin; sisters, Sandra Galloway (Steve Galloway), of West Columbia, and Connie Arnold, of Columbia; brothers, Allen Arnold, of Columbia and Michael Arnold (Beth); four nieces and five nephews. A memorial service will be held at Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine St Columbia, SC, Sunday October 13th at 2:00pm, with a reception following after at his daughter and former wife's house for family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to South Carolina Oncology Center, 166 Stoneridge Dr Columbia, SC 29210 or Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine St Columbia, SC 29205.
