Terrell "Ted" Eugene Stutts
February 23rd, 1929 - August 19th, 2014
Terrell Eugene "Ted" Stutts, 85, of Columbia passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Westminister Presbyterian Church, 1715 Broad River Road, Columbia SC, 29210. Visitation and a reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be private. Born on February 23, 1929, in Slocumb, AL he was the son of the late Eugene Stutts and Gene Chambers and the late Carl Childs of Ft. Gaines, GA. Prior to his graduation from Auburn University, he served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He retired as Executive Vice President of Loxcreen Company, where his career spanned approximately forty years and he developed many lifelong friends and business relationships across the country. He was a long standing member of Westminister Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and deacon. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to anyone he came in contact with. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Camille Hardin Stutts of Columbia; three daughters, Cathy Strovinskas and her husband George of Roswell, GA, Genie Panaccione and her husband Bob of Houston, TX and Leslie Crocker and her husband David of Lexington; grandchildren, Camille Panaccione, Kaitlin Panaccione, Chandler Crocker, Chelsea Crocker, McKenzie Crocker, Forrest Crocker, Alexander Terrell Hartley, Chad (Laura) Strovinskas, and Clay (Nicole) Strovinskas; great-grandchildren, Carson, Collin, and Cayden Grace Strovinskas; brother, Carl (Norma) Childs, Jr and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would also like to acknowledge the support and friendship of his neighbors, caregivers to his wife, and medical staff at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Ted Stutts to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Youth Ministry, 1715 Broad River Road, Columbia SC, 29210 and to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) in honor of the constant care he lovingly provided to his wife Camille.
