Each day you strived to live, Your body too weak to be. Your love will live forever, Since your heart has set you free. Now you walk so bravely, You feel the pain no more. Angel's have come to guide you And bring you to Heaven's door. Memories we'll hold so dearly, Your smile warmed our hearts. And through our lives you'll live, You've touched so many parts. Hard days may be before us, It's all part of God's plan. Why you left so soon, We may never understand. You'll be alone no longer, And you'd tell us, "Don't be sad." Please believe, you were no burden We'll always love you, Dad! Our lives have changed forever, Since the day you passed away. In Heaven you'll be waiting To meet us again someday. John Stebbins, aka, "Buck" was a loving, devoted husband of 51 years to Ruth Anne Stebbins, and a father of 4; Susan Burklew, Michael Stebbins, Peter Stebbins and David Stebbins. He was born April 24, 1935 and passed away on November 23, 2016 after a long battle of health issues. He will be remembered as a man of dignity and character who continually put others first. He was a father who was present in his children's lives and always within arm's reach supporting all they experienced and endured. As a grandfather, he cherished his grandchildren, keeping photos of them tucked away in his wallet, by his side; always willing to give them his time and attention. He was a man who never complained or raised his voice. By doing so, he taught those around him what it meant to be a positive influence for others. One of his greatest gifts was his ability to laugh at himself. No matter how bad things were, you could still make him laugh and smile. He was a true gentleman and the closest you could come to sainthood. Those who knew him were better for it. We will all miss you Buck! May you be forever "never better" and rest in peace with the angels. A memorial service will be held at Mr. Stebbin's home at 167 Oldtown Drive, Lexington, SC 29072 on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 5:00 PM.
