Wayne Lamont Downs

Wayne Lamont Downs, 75 passed away Tuesday, December 12 2017 at his home. Wayne was born on September 1, 1942 in Salisbury, North Carolina to Lamont and Ruby May Downs. Wayne is now reunited with his beloved wife, Ann Downs. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, Billy, Bobby and Jerry Downs. Wayne was owner of G & W Produce. He was well known in the Spartanburg area where played football for Fairforest High School, where he graduated in 1961. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren. Wayne is survived by son, Gary Downs and daughter, Paige Hickman. He is also survived by grandchildren, Mikey, Kaitlyn, Savannah, and great grandson, Dallas along with numerous relatives from North Carolina to California. A memorial service will be held at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00AM. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
