Barbara A. McLean, 74, of Lexington, SC passed away peacefully on Saturday evening November 5, 2011 in Lexington Medical Center surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Bruce L. McLean. Born September 23, 1937 in Boston, Ma she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Toulman Carrol. Barbara was a fabulous baker known for her famous cakes which could brighten anybody?s day. She was gifted at the art of embroidery and would frequently make tablecloths. Barbara and her husband Bruce would take two yearly trips to Bermuda. They enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and the company of good friends. Barbara enjoyed using the luxuries of modern technology to keep in touch with friends and family. She enjoyed using the computer and talking on the phone, the family saying was when Barbara called ?prepare to listen?. She was a member of St. Bridget?s Church in Abington, Ma. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Jean ?Jane? McLoughlin and two brothers Edward and George Carrol. Survivors include her loving husband Bruce L. McLean whom she married March 3, 1957 and five nieces Jane, Barbara, Denise, MaryAnn and Marlena. Barbara is also survived by her beloved beagle Mactavish. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodridge Funeral Home Lexington, South Carolina.
